Esperienza fantastica: If you are in Napoli and you love to train with cool people, definitely check out O-Nami! Professor Renato was easily reachable on WhatsApp and they hold a lot of classes and open mats all week long. I was impressed by the caliber of all of the gym members and there were even some ladies! They made me feel very welcome both during an open mat and a no-gi class.

Esperienza fantastica: Highly recommend if you want to get some mat time while traveling. Messaged ahead and was invited to join a class for €10 mat fee. The person at the door indicated you could pay by card, but I’d bring cash just in case I misunderstood. Located through a gate you’ll see from street view and head through a relatively non descript door on the building to your right. A couple fitness businesses in the same location but someone will help you find O-Nami. It’s really easy. Their schedule online is accurate. The class was structured as warm ups, drilling technique, situational sparring then live rolling. A few black belts here and the entire group was welcoming.

Esperienza fantastica: Amazing Gym, I went to this gym in my vacation in Napels. Very nice chemistry in the gym. And they speak English. If you want to roll and enjoy the city. Definitely go to this gym!

Esperienza fantastica: Great gym to train at while visiting Naples! I showed up for their 7pm nogi class. The gym was a bit hard to find, but I just followed in someone that looked like they were there for BJJ. The drop in fee is 10 Euro and they take credit cards. The class starts with warm ups, drills, then move series, followed by open rolling. The instructions were mostly in Italian, but the instructor translated to English for me. The people in the gym were all really friendly and introduced themselves, and they were great partners to roll with. I highly recommend training here.

High level people train here, great if you are a competition fighter. Lessons were in Italian, but Francesco made the effort to translate the details in English (even though I was the only person who did not speak Italian). Highly recommend this BJJ team in Naples.

Esperienza fantastica: Je suis venu à Naples dans le cadre de mes études et ai trouvé ce club pour m’entraîner. C’est un véritable coup de cœur! Les gens y sont TOUS très gentils et accueillant. Super niveau et les cours sont d’une grande qualités et le tout dans la bonne humeur. Bref un véritable plaisir de s’entraîner avec eux. Merci pour ces 6 mois qui sont passés trop vite. (Ps: J’avais le droit à des explications en anglais au cas où je ne comprenais pas donc si vous êtes étranger, foncez !)

Esperienza fantastica: BEST jiujitsu gym in Napoli !!!! As a foreigner & tourist I feel very comfortable safe and of course unique techniq. Good location also near the main station, if you want to learn real jiujitsu, I would say you should come here. BTW coach is very kind and charming

Esperienza fantastica: Attended a no-gi session which was 2 hours long (10 euros). The acadmey is inside a gym which is useful if you want to also lift weights. Excellent demonstrations by the teacher who made the effort to explain the techniques in English, which was very appreciated. Friendly environment and really talented group of athletes. I was initially a bit hesitant about joining a session because I didn't want any injuries while on holiday but no one cranked on submissions and I felt comfortable and safe. Would recommend to anyone passing through Naples.

And these guys were super athletic, I had a hard time keeping up haha. If you want to get in shape and learn Jiu Jitsu in a friendly and safe environment, this is the place!

Esperienza fantastica: If you’re traveling to Napoli, and looking to get your rolls in abroad, this is the place to do it. You can find this video on instagram: @thetravelinggrappler_ Below I provide a comprehensive review of my experience and the gym itself: What was my experience? Nothing short of incredible! I can’t begin to thank the coach, Francesco, enough for welcoming me to the club and making me feel comfortable. He took care to ensure that I understood the instructions for any given scenario or roll after he gave them in Italian. I speak Spanish which is close to Italian so I would be able to understand parts of the instructions anyway, but he would always come by me and make sure I knew what the drill was in English. What about the other students? They are a great group of people, a good mix of skill sets and belts. The most important thing though? Was that everyone gave you a tough roll and was friendly. I was able to able to roll with most everyone at the school including the coach as well. On the day I went we did gi training, but they invited me to come back the next day for no gi as well. Bc of a ferry problem coming back from a day trip though, I unfortunately got back too late to attend training. However, I have no doubts that no gi training would have been equally great. Next time I will attend both for sure! What about the facilities? See my reel on the gym for how to locate the entrance to it. The building that the gym is located in, is a multifaceted place. They have a general gym (free weights, racks, cardio, et al), locker room with showers, and another section reserved for taekwondo.

Esperienza fantastica: I went there twice and I had the best experience. As a lightweight female grappler it can be risky visiting new academies. But at O-Nami I felt really safe. The coaches made sure I had save sparring partners and would translate the drills for me into English. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming. The rounds were really technical and no one would go extra hard just to show off but at the same time challenge their training partners. Will definitely come back for a visit!!!

If your in Napels and want to break a good sweat, definitely go to O-nami Academy. A lot of friendly and high level competitors. I was visiting from Canada and everyone was so helpful and kind. The guys didn’t try to win - which is something I have to be cautious with when I roll with new people - it was all a great experience! Recommend!! They also spoke English, which was also a bonus!

Esperienza fantastica: During a weeklong visit in Naples I had the chance to train in this academy. The atmosphere there was great, everybody welcomed me and although I speak zero Italian, everybody tried to do some small talk with me or answer my touristy questions. Furthermore the level in the academy is really high. The head coach does a great job at explaining the little details in techniques and my sparring rounds at the end were friendly but really tough due to the high level of the team. All in all I can recommend the gym to everybody!

Esperienza fantastica: Great Academy! I visited Naples for a few days and texted the Instagram page of O-Nami. I asked them if could train Grappling and MMA with them while I am there. They told me that I am totally welcome. The MMA head coach, Orion Lombardi even offered me to bring shin guards, cause I didn’t bring mine with me to Naples. The coaches and the members I experienced on the mat were fantastic. Very nice and open people. I never experienced a nice hospitality like that in a gym. The training itself was very good as well. Especially the Grappling/BJJ Level was very high. I would always come back to the gym, when in Naples.

Esperienza fantastica: Il livello dell’ O-Nami Academy e' veramente alto. L'intensita' degli allenamenti in primis ma merito anche dell'atmosfera generale che permette agli atleti di migliorarsi sia dal punto di vista tecnico che mentale in totale armonia e serenita'. Esperienza personale, dopo ogni mazziata presa a Napoli sono sempre rientrato piu' tenace mentalmente e con un idea chiara sugli aspetti tecnici da migliorare. Un saggio una volta mi disse "il jiu jitsu lo impari lottando cu chi e' megl e te", quale miglior modo se non il confronto e il cross-training.

Esperienza fantastica: Il miglior team di BJJ in Campania, atleti di alto livello e insegnanti competenti, tra cui Renato Avallone, un pioniere del Jiu-Jitsu italiano. La posizione della palestra è ottima per chi arriva con il treno (a 5 minuti a piedi da Napoli Centrale) ma anche per chi arriva in macchina, dal momento che è facile trovare parcheggio nelle vicinanze.

Esperienza fantastica: Competenza, serietà e competitività riassumono perfettamente l'esperienza alla O-nami. Per chi vuole imparare in sicurezza Bjj Gi e no-gi a Napoli non c'è posto migliore.

Esperienza fantastica: Accademia di jiu-jitsu a pochi minuti a piedi dalla stazione, istruttori competenti e disponibili, gruppo affiatato ed amichevole. Adatto sia a praticanti navigati ma anche e soprattutto ai neofiti. Consigliatissimo.

Esperienza fantastica: O-nami è attualmente il gruppo che ospita atleti da tutta la Campania, dà la possibilità di allenarsi ogni giorno e libertà di ospitare chiunque voglia allenarsi anche se appartenente ad altri gruppi. Le lezioni sono strutturate in maniera tale da diversificare ogni giorno i lavori e di lavorare sia col BJJ tradizionale che col no-gi. La palestra è la storica futurama, nota da sempre per le arti marziali, il tatami è molto ampio. Per chi comincia si viene molto tutelati onde evitare infortuni e per permettersi di appassionarsi a questo magnifico sport.

Esperienza fantastica: I'll be direct: this place is not for low-effort individuals. Everyone is devoted, and extremely athletic. For those who have been in the sport for a while, it could be a great place to come and train once in a while, as the standards and competence level are very high across the board. For the uninitiated, you'll expecting to put in the mileage and grind it out. This is a highly respected team whose members win 1st place in many competitions. However, ironically, it does not have a cult-like mentality at all. Really important to emphasize- this is a (god forgive me for saying this publicly) wholesome group of people, with no "ego" ever getting in the way. If you've ever been in a toxic gym\environment (bjj or otherwise), you know what I'm talking about. You will never feel that way here. I know I said there's high expectations, but it's balanced out with supportive, amazing people. Oh, and they hardly speak English. So if you enjoy feeling like a dumbass, come on by, and get submitted by folks who mostly have the same confusing names

Esperienza fantastica: Solido gruppo di Jiu Jitsu, Grappling ed MMA a Napoli orientato all'agonismo ed alla pratica sportiva ma adatto anche ai principianti ed a chi si approccia per finalità meramente ricreative. Per chi è già del settore segnalo l'egregio lavoro anche dei praticanti più attempati, sul gioco di mezza guardia NoGi. Gli istruttori sono aggiornati sulle tecniche più moderne ma ancorati a principi solidi, dal berimbolo all'anca a pistone, non manca proprio nulla. Nei pressi della stazione, facilmente raggiungibile, parcheggio agevole.

Esperienza fantastica: I migliori atleti campani sono qui, aperti a tutti. Da questa palestra non si viene cacciati per futili motivi e l'ambiente è decisamente allegro.

I wish I could continue rolling with them but I've moved farther out of Naples and my work schedule doesn't allow a lot of free time. If you go you'll roll with some really solid BJJ practitioners.

Esperienza fantastica: Ottima palestra di BJJ, grappling e MMA situata a pochi passi dalla Stazione Centrale di Piazza Garibaldi (quindi facilmente raggiungibile anche con metropolitana e altri mezzi). Ambiente familiare e amichevole dove circolano spesso agonisti e ospiti da ogni dove. Focus soprattutto sul BJJ. Consigliatissima!
